CoachGoat - Terms of Use

Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using CoachGoat ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. About the App

CoachGoat is a fitness tracking and training management application for iOS. It helps you organise, visualise, and understand your running data by reading workout information from Apple Health. Your training calculations and app state are processed locally on your device.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using CoachGoat, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. These Terms are between you ("User", "you") and MoonGoat Studios Ltd ("Developer", "we", "us"), a limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17359130), with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.

3. Not Medical Advice

CoachGoat is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, injury, or medical condition.

Training load guidance in the App is informed by published sports science research, including peer-reviewed studies on running and injury occurrence. This research describes statistical associations in study populations and may not apply to your individual situation.

The App provides information for educational and informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider, sports medicine professional, or physical therapist with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or training programme.

4. Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your own training decisions. CoachGoat provides information to support those decisions but cannot guarantee any specific outcome, including the prevention of injury.

5. Health Data and Privacy

CoachGoat reads workout data from Apple Health with your permission. It only requests read access and does not write to your Apple Health database. The native app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.

CoachGoat performs training calculations on your device and does not automatically upload your Apple Health workouts, heart-rate samples or routes to us. Local preferences, plans and cached state use iOS app storage and Keychain. If you contact support or submit feedback, we and the relevant providers receive what you choose to send. Apple services, external sites, storage, retention and deletion are described in the Privacy Policy, available in Settings in the app.

Deleting the app does not necessarily clear Keychain items or remove support, feedback, Apple Health or backup records. Revoking Apple Health access stops future reads of the affected data; it does not erase previously stored information.

6. Purchases and Subscriptions

CoachGoat may offer free features, paid subscriptions, lifetime purchases, or promotional access to premium features. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and your Apple ID account.

If you buy an auto-renewable subscription, it will renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. Refund requests and payment issues are handled by Apple under App Store policies.

We may change, add, or remove premium features over time, provided that the App continues to comply with applicable App Store rules and consumer protection law.

7. Data Accuracy

The App relies on data from Apple Health and your device's sensors (or connected devices such as GPS watches). We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of this data. Inaccurate sensor data may lead to inaccurate training load calculations.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

(a) The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

(b) The Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

(c) In no event shall the Developer's total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the App exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Developer from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

10. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is owned by the Developer and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App, nor may you reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code.

11. Apple-Specific Terms

If you obtained the App from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your licence to use the App, and these Terms supplement it. These Terms are between you and the Developer, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the App. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

The App uses Apple frameworks and services such as HealthKit, MapKit, StoreKit, WorkoutKit, and UserNotifications. Your use of Apple services remains subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy policies.

12. Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the App.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Terms version" date at the top. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Developer. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding the use of the App and supersede any prior agreements.
